Judicial Nomination Commission Announces Superior Court Vacancy

On February 27 the D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission announced a vacancy on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia resulting from the resignation of Judge Rupa Ranga Puttagunta, effective April 12, 2024. The commission invites qualified individuals to apply for the vacancy by noon on March 21. Application materials and instructions are available on the JNC website. Please note that the application forms were recently revised.

On April 1 the D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission announced that the position of chief judge of D.C. Superior Court will be vacant when the term of Chief Judge Anita Josey-Herring expires on September 30, 2024. Josey-Herring is not seeking reappointment.

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission is inviting comments from the bench, bar, and public regarding the qualifications of 20 candidates for vacancies on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the retirement of Judge Jennifer M. Anderson and the resignation of Judge Rupa Rang.
